If I build it, will they come?

Here it is, my inaugural blog post. With this, I join the legions of other bloggers around the world. And the big question is WHY? Why am I doing it? Well, basically, it’s because I can, which is probably the reason behind the existence of most blogs. Oh, it’s actually a bit more involved than that. I’m also learning how to do it– how to set one up in WordPress, how to work with WordPress in general, to customize its appearance, add and work with “widgets”, etc., all of which are things I can conceivably use professionally later on. But, when it comes down to it, it’s mostly because I can.

The next big question is why should you read it? That I have no idea, really. It’s not that I think I’m all that terribly good a writer, and I certainly don’t believe what I have to say is all that important in the general scheme of things. You probably got here in the first place by clicking a link on one of my web sites or in a post to some discussion forum, or you’re a Facebook friend, or someone I’ve told directly about this blog. There’s no one specific topic or subject I’m planning to write about, pretty much whatever happens to pop into my head. It might be about Macintosh computers, computers or technology in general, my Toyota Prius, ballroom dance, Humphrey Bogart, the New York Yankees or baseball in general, you name it. I’m just hoping that some of you find it interesting or amusing enough to come back.
